Today was a head down, get to work day kinda day. One of the beauties of being by yourself in another country where you don’t know anyone is the time and ability to focus. Don’t get me wrong, I love hanging out with friends, but there are sometimes when you need to get away and get stuff done.
This past couple of weeks feel productive and refreshing. My goal while I’m out in South East Asia is to get three specializations done in marketing (Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Marketing, and Marketing Strategy), successfully bringing in profits from my online business, Network & Market, and to raise funding for Minidesk. Oh, and I need to get a good understanding of the startup world and derivatives.
I intend to get a specialization done every month I’m out in Asia. Each specialization has about 5-6 courses in them. I’ve been gunning to finish one to two courses a week. Almost everything I’m doing, I’m logging into MilliardCo. MilliardCo. has been one of the coolest tools I’ve been using to see progress in different areas. It’s helped me focus my mind and see the big picture with what I’m trying to accomplish. I doubt I’ll have any readers for my blog, which I don’t mind. Just having this blog has made me more effective and positive.
Just a quick recap on the day. I had breakfast in the morning. I bought some eggs and bacon and was able to make my regular breakfast again. I went over Deuteronomy from the bible project today and decided to start taking notes on it and uploading it to my theology page. After that, I got to work.
I was feeling a little stumped with the direction of Network & Market. I didn’t know the best approach to take and the idea of “product-market fit” was really playing out. I don’t think I have a good sense of my product to market fit yet. I think I’m getting closer. I rewatched some videos teaching how to build network marketing online, and it gave me some really good ideas. After that, I made some adjustments to my approach and will continue to roll out tomorrow. That took up the majority of the day.
Around 8 pm I was FINALLY able to get a decent gym session. I’ll take pictures of the gym tomorrow. After the gym, I headed over to the 7-eleven near the place to pick up some whey protein. The whey is surprisingly not sweet out here (which I prefer) and tastes good. I normally hate the typical whey protein that we have in the states. Luckily, Usana has some great regular, non-flavored whey, that I make into smoothies. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to pack any to come out here.
To buy the whey I had to spend 300 Bhat to use my credit card. I ran out of cash, so I ended up buying water and some cashews too. When I got back, I showered up and went over week 2 of SEO Fundamentals. I just finished that and then linked some of the old certifications I had onto my LinkedIn profile. Now it’s time to go to sleep. I’ve been slowly inching my way to getting to sleep earlier. I’m doing better but still not where I need to be. I’m excited to wake up tomorrow and get to work. I feel like I hit some roadblocks with Network & Market and now I’m getting some clarity. I also need to start focusing on reaching out to investors. Hopefully, the sooner I get a rhythm for N&M I’ll be able to.
