This very succinctly captures how I’ve been feeling for a very long time. The path to wealth, many times, seems counterintuitive to the majority because to outperform the status quo, you have to do things differently. And these “things differently” can make you feel like an idiot and challenge your conviction along the way.
I believe that’s one of the hardest challenges for newer entrepreneurs – Looking foolish for a long time not knowing if you’re going to succeed. You don’t have to be a genius to become wealthy but you need the conviction and grit to get to the end goal and be okay looking like an idiot along the path.
The path, many times, is sprinkled with failures along the way to the holy grail of financial success so staying headstrong about your counterintuitive decisions in the face of failure is the biggest obstacle entrepreneurs face. But if you’re able to overcome, the vindication and joy of success are priceless. It’s a battle that not everyone gets to experience, but for the few, brave, and idiotic, the savory taste of victory is worth all the foil.
