I’m pooped! It’s 3:32 am right now, and I just finished booking our tours for Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. We’re going to have a pretty epic trip through Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. I also just finished getting my visa on arrival for Vietnam.
Since today was my last day going solo on this trip, I figured I needed to enjoy it while I can. Although, I did get quite a bit of work done on my Keynote for Network & Market. I’m trudging along. It was much more fruitful today than it was yesterday, part of it is I’m feeling much better now. I have about 50 pages of content, but I’m still a bit away from completing it and then recording a video on it, but the progress is coming along.
I did have a quick lunch downstairs at the restaurant next to the Thai place. I ran out of eggs, bacon, and veggies home so eating out was my option. This was the first time going there, and it was decent. I’ve been forgetting to take pictures of my food before I gobble it all up. I did manage to take a picture of part of my lunch though.
After working until about 5 pm, I decided to call it quits and enjoy the rest of the time. I grabbed dinner at a Japanese Ramen/Teppanyaki place at the Habito Plaza. The food took forever to come out, BUT man it was delicious. It was like an upgraded version of the skewers I usually get. I was so tempted to get it to-go too…They also had a great selection of Japanese whiskey but I needed to get a work out in so I skipped the whiskey. I grabbed a veggie/fruit protein shake to-go for after my work out, but I drank more than half of it before I got back to the condo. It reminded me of the shakes in Bali…mmmm
I got back to the condo and grabbed my gym gear and headed to the gym that I have to pay 100Bhat to use per session. Ridiculous but you gotta do what you gotta do. When I got there the guy that collects the money wasn’t there, so I just walked in and got my work out in. My conscious wasn’t going to let me not pay. I finished my work out and went upstairs to get water because I forgot it and headed back down to do some laps in the pool. The entrance guy was there this time, but I walked straight to the pool. The whole time I was fighting my conscious about paying the 100 Bhat. I thought it was stupid but it was the rules, and I felt guilty the entire time. I could have easily not paid and gotten away with it mainly since it was my last night at the condo but when I left, I stopped by and dropped off the money. He didn’t even notice I was there, but it’s the principle that counts.
After heading up and showering, I was desperate to get a massage, so I got ready quickly and walked over to the Tree massage that I found near the On Nut Station exit. I got 1.5-hour massage for foot and shoulder/neck for 360 Bhat (11 bucks…). I’m going to miss these massages for these prices. I tip well, so I don’t feel sorry about the prices. The massage was decent. It’s not like the place I go to near Thong Buri BTS exit near the Lighthouse Condo I stayed at. That place hands down is my favorite place in Thailand so far. The hotel we’ll be staying at is near it, so you bet I’m going to get one more before we leave.
I left and was hoping that on my walk back that I’d be able to grab some dragon fruit from the stand vendors but the one stand that had it closed down. My next best option was grapefruit. I grabbed that and also some food from 7-eleven. The 7-eleven’s in Asia are much more than convenience stores that we’re accustomed to in the States. They have a great selection of food they heat up for you. This was my first time trying it, and it was seriously on par with some restaurants I’ve eaten at.
After dinner, I had a good talk with my buddy Mike Dejesus. He’s been reading some of my blogs on here (I didn’t think anyone was reading it…). He gave me some solid feedback about the blog and the direction for it. As you know, I’ve been thinking about the direction for the blog, and it was good to hear positive feedback and to reinforce my idea that Milliardco. can be something more. I’m still not decided about the direction, but it was good to hear that my blogging was good — this advice also coincided with a quote I read today applies in this situation.
Alright, that’s enough for today. It’s already 4:23 am! I need to get some sleep and clean up the place tomorrow morning. Jason (My buddy) won’t be getting in until 2 pm, and it’ll probably take him about 2 hours to get to the hotel, so I still have some time. I might do some laundry, get some work done, and grab breakfast and lunch before I head over to the hotel. I might just do that teppanyaki place again…So good.
