Bangkok (Part 2) – Day 5

Today was a solid day. I feel like I’m getting back on track mentally now that I’m feeling better and I’m in a place that is more conducive to my productivity. The day went by so quickly I’m having a hard time recounting what I did.

I worked on finishing up some designs for Stationgeek. I’m putting it now on the back burner and adding to the Stationgeek concept whenever I have some time, but it’s not the main priority. I’ve been taking the time to think about what I should be doing. Network & Market is there, but I’m not as passionate about it as I would like. I feel I’ve learned a ton from it and might not have learned the stuff I’ve learned if I didn’t spend the time learning.

I feel like I’ve picked up so many new skills and created so much. I’ve learned about marketing, building websites, Bitcoin, trading, CAD, coding, startup concepts, creating MVPs, fundraising, creating businesses, etc. I’ve created my portable workstation, Network & Market, Milliardco., traveled for four months in South East Asia myself, road a moped through Bali, snorkeled in the islands of Thailand, and the list goes on. It’s been such a remarkable journey, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

The next thing is just creating something that creates a viable source of income. I feel like I’m close and I need to keep trucking along. Eventually, something will hit. The struggle of being an entrepreneur and chasing after your dreams is challenging, but it’s exciting. I’ve heard of rags to riches stories, and I feel like I’ll have my moment. People won’t understand the amount of sacrifice, heartache, and disappoints that led to the successes. It’ll seem like it’s an overnight success story, but there were many terrible nights of doubt, mounting debt, and days when things all seemed for naught. The journey is worth it. The end will be worth it.

I had lunch at the restaurant in the condo complex. They have good Thai food. I ordered a dish that was similar to the one we ate in Ko Lanta. It was close to being just as good. I think I’ll get it again tomorrow. I thought I took a picture of it, but I guess not. I also had chicken wings and some tom yum seafood soup.

I worked on Stationgeek until about 5 pm. I had a chat with Aeron on slack about Minidesk. We caught up, and we’re on the same page. He mentioned that we would work well together. He’s been reading his Enneagram results, and the common theme was him needing to work with someone with Focus which happens to be my number one strength. He said he thinks we’ll make a good team. I think it was reassuring to hear that. I wasn’t sure where he was at with wanting me on board. We should be able to hit the ground running come January. Hopefully, by then, I’ll have a decent source of income.

I needed some fresh air to brainstorm and think so I went to the pool area and brought my Ipad. It was great getting out and getting some air with an incredible view. I should have been getting out more sooner. I felt I was able to think clearer. Also, I happened to do some quick breathing exercises, and I felt that cleared my mind before I went out to brainstorm.

I’ve been messing with the idea of building “Salarytoprofits” a website dedicated to helping people find suitable online businesses as a gateway to build out Stationgeek. The target audience would be the perfect marketing segment for Stationgeek. It would be like beginning the marketing for Stationgeek but with another company. It’s similar to what Peter Lievels did with Nomadlist, RemoteOk, Hoodmaps, etc. They all complement each other.

I had a great brainstorming session, and the thoughts kept flowing for Salarytoprofits. I wanted to keep brainstorming so I decided to get a massage at my favorite spot near the Lighthouse where I stayed at before. I got a one-hour foot massage so I was able to continue to work and it was one of the best massages. I honestly sat there thinking I’m the luckiest guy in the world to be working on stuff I want to work on while getting a massage. Incredible…

After working for an hour, I also got a Thai massage for an hour. It was perfect. The masseuse “Tam” knew how to massage each massage. It felt like she knew how to massage each sinew of muscle I had, treating them as individuals rather than a block of muscle. She was great.

After the massage, I went to get dinner at one of my favorite food spots when I was at the old condo. I’ve been eating terrible ever since I was sick and it didn’t stop with this meal. I’ll eat healthier tomorrow. The food was delicious, but my body is regretting it already.

I finished dinner pretty quickly since the food was so good and headed to my old stomping grounds at Senafest to pick up some fruit. I made it just in time before they closed.

I headed back and tested the Bubble app to build out salary to profits. Seems pretty simple to use. I then wireframed most of the website today. I’ll continue to work on it tomorrow. That’s it for today. Time to get some rest!
