Bangkok (Part 2) – Day 4

Day 4 already in the books. Thankfully, I’m feeling better. I still have a sore throat but able to function normally. I haven’t gotten my bearings yet being back in Bangkok, but I think by tomorrow I’ll be more productive. I have just nine more days before my buddy gets in which means I only have nine more days of full productivity and I honestly don’t feel close to where I need.

Marketing has been brutally slow for Network & Market. It makes me question if I should move on already but I realize I need to learn marketing regardless. I have most of my digital assets in place, and it would be a shame if I didn’t complete what I started. I know quick iteration, and testing is important, and some argue that you should move on quickly if you aren’t getting traction but what it’s also possible quitting too soon.

I didn’t even realize it was Sunday already. The days have been going by so quickly here. I haven’t made it past this condo yet since I’ve been under the weather. Tomorrow should be the first day getting out and exploring other areas.

I’m thankful to be back in Thailand. Bali was a great experience, but I love having a clean room with no bugs and a lot of lighting! I can efficiently work in the room and be perfectly content. I have access to food and coffee downstairs at the nearby restaurants, and I have great wifi at the condo. I also have access to a decent gym with a fantastic pool area.

Most of the day, I spent working on Stationgeek stuff. I tried not to, but I just got sucked in once I starting messing with my designs. I plan to give it a break and get refocused on Network & Market.

I checked Bitcoin today and it tanked even more. It’s currently trading at 3,500 USD. I’m not worried but this has been tough. It could have been much worse. I messaged my sister about possibly buying more Bitcoin. I think it’s at an incredible price. The black swan event that could cause major issues is a global recession. That could depress prices further and draw the downturn out much longer. In the long run, I’m bullish about Bitcoin. The entire sector needs time to grow. I plan to keep adding to my Bitcoin stack at these prices.

I had lunch at a Thai place next door. It was good but pricey, and the portions were small. The drawback about being in this part of Bangkok is that most locals here are not exposed to foreigners, so most don’t speak English. When I was at the Lighthouse next to the Krong Thon Buri BTS station, most of the people, I talked to understood English since it’s closer to the tourist attraction. Also, most of the food caters towards Thai locals, so it’s mostly Thai food. This is why I now book only a week at an Airbnb location to test if it’s a good location or not. A week is bearable if it sucks. I’ll be at this location until Thursday of this week.

Saw this tiny guy while walking back from lunch. He is the size of a quarter and easily blended into the ground — cute little fella.

I was so tired and recovering the past couple of days that I didn’t post pictures of the location I’m staying at so here it is.

It’s okay. It has this odd smell to it, but it’s clean, has AC, wifi works, and has the necessities of what I need. The area around here doesn’t have much but enough to last me a week before I start going a little crazy. I booked a new location that is a way to the east. I haven’t stayed in that part yet, but I wanted to change things up since I’ve been staying mostly in the East part of the Chao Praya river.

I went back to the place and took a nap and then watched a Boruto anime. I did some work and headed down to get some lunch/dinner. My eating schedule has been off. I wasn’t as hungry when I was sick. I went to the skewer place again. So delicious. I’m probably going back there tomorrow too.

After dinner, I did some laundry and studied how luxury brands build their brand. Once my laundry finished, I went to the gym for a quick leg, shoulder, and trap workout. Then swam in the huge pool. The water so wasn’t as clear and warm as Bali, but it was big, so I was able to test swimming a longer stretch. I finished, tried to see if any restaurants were open but unfortunately none were. Most of the street vendors close around 10 pm too.

I headed to 7-eleven and grabbed some items and headed back. I read up more on branding, added some material to my notes for Stationgeek, and added content for Milliardco. That’s it for tonight. The goal is to get back on the ball tomorrow.
