Bangkok (Part 2) – Day 2

The day started out pretty well. I went out to get breakfast downstairs at one of the shops. I didn’t expect to have spicy beef vegetable soup for breakfast but it was still pretty good. There are a few food options around here which is nice but this is not a tourist area compared to my last location.

I went next door to the coffee shop to get some coffee and do a little drafting for Stationgeek. I figured it’s a holiday so most people aren’t going to be responsive on ads so working on Stationgeek was therapeutic. I ended up working on a draft of the version 1 prototype and it turned out decent. I stayed at the coffee shop until my Ipad died and then headed back to the condo to work on the prototype some more.

Time went by fast. I was locked into designing and I have a lot of fun with it. Around 7 pm I started feeling sick. I’ve been having a negligible sore throat the past couple of days but it didn’t turn into anything until today. I’m starting to feel achy and tired. I think it was from that girl in the Machinery coffee shop in Bali coughing up a storm that got me sick. I guess I’ll be out of commission for a bit considering it’s holiday season I’ll just take it as a holiday break. I’ll still work but my focus is shot.

I grabbed dinner around the corner at a teppanyaki place. I missed those little skewers but man they were spicy. I grabbed some fruit from a street vendor after dinner and went back to the condo to rest up. I thought I finally got away from the mosquitos in Bali but I found one today that was buzzing around me. I had several more mosquito bites. I hate those buggers. I was able to find him and I made sure it was the last bite he’ll ever take…

Now that I can’t rest in peace, I’m going to shower up and get some rest. It’s unfortunate to be sick considering I only have two weeks left before work slows down…I don’t get to take advantage of the pool or gym…I’m thankful this is the first time I’ve felt sick on this trip which is a blessing. Time for a warm shower and bed.
