Krabi – Day 3

Happy to report there is some hope for Ko Lanta yet. I’m starting to see some of the reason people visit this island. We had an action-packed day. We took a speedboat to Koh Roh Island for snorkeling. We started in the morning and went to three snorkeling locations. The water was pristine, and the beach we ate lunch at was beautiful.

I’m glad we went snorkeling because I was able to practice swimming in open water without having a life vest. I approached it a bit timidly in the beginning because this would be the first time I swam in the ocean snorkeling in deep waters. After the first session, I felt comfortable and became bolder without my distance from the boat. It was good getting over my fear of water. I remember being afraid of water as a kid snorkeling in Hawaii. I think I was scarred from seeing a huge fish and freaking out. I ran out of that water so fast and didn’t go back in. Today was a big win.

After snorkeling, we headed back to the house and got ready for dinner. The A/C wasn’t working in my mom’s room, so we called the owner to get it fixed. We waited until it was done before we headed out. We liked the restaurant we went to yesterday so much, Shanti Shanti, that we went back again today. They didn’t disappoint. Their food is by far the best Thai food we’ve eaten. The seafood is incredibly fresh because everything is caught that day. We were able to catch the sunset right at dinner too. It’s a beautiful sunset here with purple and pink skies when the sun dips into the ocean.

Once we finished dinner, we went to get another massage. My sister and I switched masseuses because my lady was terrible the first time. Hoping the lady would be better, my sister agreed to go with her. It turns out she was still terrible. My lady was incredible. Super strong and hit all the right points.

By this time it was around 9 pm, and we stopped by some convenient stores for some items and then headed home. I got a leg work out in and then called it a night.

Overall, it was a much better day compared to yesterday. Tomorrow, we plan to grab some breakfast at a small resort and hang out at the beach. It’ll be a more relaxing day.
