Move-out day: 4/8/23
I officially moved out of my apartment in Brea on April 8th, 2023. I flew in on April 4th so I could start cleaning and selling on the stuff that was left in the apartment. It was filthy when I got there so I went to Target to buy a Dyson and Swiffer to clean the place. It took me a couple of days to clean and start posting all of the furniture for sale.
God Working in the Unknown
Thank God I could sell most of the more significant items I had. It was a blessing because I could recoup more money back than I had even initially spent. It was definitely a God thing how everything worked out.
I initially rented the place to someone I found on Craigslist. He ended up giving me a deposit for $7k and paying me $3,500 for rent each month even though my rent was about $3k. He also agreed to pay me $13k for all the furniture that I didn’t bring with me to Texas. He only ended up staying 4 months before he ended up having to move out prematurely.
Long story short, he gave me back all the furniture, paying all of the rent through the end of the term through his security deposit because he only had 2 months left on the sublease. He was just shy of $3k on paying back the furniture but because he was paying me about $500 over my rent, I got everything back. In addition, my sister helped me find someone to stay 1 month at the apartment for $1850. I also recouped $5400 on the furniture. That’s more than insane how that all played out.
