It’s still weird even typing that headline out. My dad just passed away…I just found out this morning from my sister who was sobbing when she first called me. Thoughts raced through my mind on what could have her crying the way she was…She’s also not a big crier. I knew something was really wrong. Then she dropped the phrase that would have me just saddened and shocked…”Dad just passed away.”
Our great-aunt found him slumped on the ground next to his bed. I still don’t know the cause of death. I’m still trying to process this all. I cried several times today. I felt numb. I felt guilty relief that he was not suffering anymore from diabetes. I’m sad he didn’t get to see our first child. He didn’t even get to meet my wife…and we’re just days away from it being fathers Day…
