It’s been a little over a month since I’ve last updated my blog. I’ve been busy working on Unwage and helping my mom sell both of her businesses. It hasn’t been much of a priority writing on Milliardco because I’m still not sure the direction I want to take with it.
It’s been a back and forth headache over selling the salon and the water store. The buyer thankfully is still here even though the process has been slow. Initially the buyer wanted both the nail salon and the water store but eventually decided to change her mind. We think it was the landlord that convinced her to just buy the nail salon and expand into the other store later on if she wanted to.
The landlord also decided he didn’t want to give us permission to sell the water store. He’s been trying to get us to vacate it so that he could sell it himself. Eventually we got him to agree to let us sell the water store. Overall, the process has been a pain but hopefully the nail salon deal will be closed by next week and then we can proceed to sell the water store separately.
Initially, I was thinking about expanding the key business inside the water store (yes we sell water and keys – odd combo but it was an inheritance from the previous owners). I eventually decided against the car keys because it required too much work. It’s been perfect the way it has been because I’ve been using my time here to build out Unwage.
I’m hoping that we’ll sell the water store in the next couple of months and I’ll be able to move on with growing Unwage. I’ve taken this time to help my mom with the stores and also get her house in order. I’m still thankful I’ve been able to have this time before I move on and do my own thing. I’ll feel a lot better once my mom is set up for retirement.
