Final day in Chiang Mai on my second visit. I forgot how long it’s been since I’ve been here. I began my trip in early September, first stop being Chiang Mai, and three months later I’m back. Everything is still very familiar and exactly as I remember but where we’re located now there are a lot more tourists. I still like Nimmanhaemin road and the MAYA mall more because it’s modern and upscale so it’s a bit more accommodating for American familiarity.
We didn’t do any tours today, thankfully. We took it pretty easy. We got breakfast in the morning at the executive lounge and then went to Nimmanhaemin area to scope out the MAYA mall and the Nimman strip, my old stomping grounds.
We were pretty tired after checking out MAYA and some of Nimman Road so we went back to the hotel to hang out and rest. We had reservations at a nice restaurant but since we saw that ONE Nimman was having an event we figured we’d come back since all the stands weren’t set up when we went the first time.
We went through Nimman road to explore and find food for dinner. We ended up going back to the MAYA mall since Jason was pretty over eating Thai food. Most of the time I was here I didn’t eat that much Thai food. I mainly ate Shabu and my typical morning breakfast that I would make back in the condo.
After dinner, we headed back and finished up another episode of the Gentlemen’s Dignity series. Korean’s are so good at creating these K-dramas…I typically don’t watch this stuff but it’s
We packed up and I had to get some solution for my contacts so I went out at 12:45 pm to see what was open. I tried 7-eleven but they didn’t have it. Thankfully, the pharmacy was still open and had it. It was interesting to come out at night and see the city basically shut itself down. The streets were filled with vendors and tourists and now you could only see the skeletal remains of the night markets.
Now off to sleep to wake up at 6 am to pack the rest of our stuff and head over to the next destination, Phuket.
