Only four more days before I leave Bali. I’m enjoying the last couple of days, but I’m looking forward to being back in Thailand where I’ll have reliable internet and away from all the bugs. I will miss the scooters and healthy food options. Bali does an incredible job using fresh local ingredients. The color of the fruits and veggies are beautiful and makes the food taste much better.
The food is the best thing about Bali. I get excited waking up because I get to try new restaurants each day. I’ve been using Tripadvisor to find the best restaurants, and I’ve been checking them off my list each day as I go to them. There are so many, and they are all pretty good. On Tuesday and Wednesday, I’ll go back to all my favorite places and have their dish one last time.
Today, I went to Milk and Madu which is a little further eat. The burrito looked good on picture, but it was decent when I had it. It wasn’t as good as Sizzlewrap. The cafe looked nice but the service wasn’t up to par, the food was pricey, and the internet was non-existent. I stayed for a bit and then had to find another place for internet access.
I went to the Nude cafe (no there weren’t nude people there). It was a perfect workplace except the internet wasn’t that fast. Honestly, most places at Canggu aren’t very fast. The fastest internet is at the coworking spaces, but I’m not planning to spend that kind of money for internet service when I can get two meals out of it. I got a chicken salad from Nude, but I forgot to take a picture of it. It was pretty good but nothing mind-blowing. The best meals I’ve had so far are from The Common, Bali Bowl, and SizzleWrap.
I worked at Nude until 5 pm and called it a day. Today was a good work day. I felt like I had a lot of progress and clarity with the things I want to do. I’m just going to finish up Network & Market and then if money allows, start building out StationGeek.
There is usually traffic at 5 pm especially in the bottleneck areas where the roads are tiny. I took a picture of the traffic coming back.
I got back home and went for a massage now that most of my cuts and bruises are healed. I got a 1.5-hour full body massage for about 15 dollars. It was a great massage.
After the massage, I went to get food at BroRestro which is a Chinese fusion restaurant with Xiao Long Bao. The dumplings were unexpectantly bad. The skin was super thick, and it wasn’t very tasty. But the pork ribs dish I got was surprisingly delicious. I also had a nice Bintang beer. It was a flavorful beer. I enjoyed it.
After dinner, I headed back and unwound with a movie. I plan to go to a beach tomorrow. I was thinking about going to Seminyak, but it seems like too much trouble. I’ll see how I feel tomorrow.
