Krabi – Day 6

Today is our last day in Krabi. We woke up early to finish up the food in the fridge and to pack up the rest of our stuff. After a quick breakfast, we packed the car and drove it to Salty Fish, where the owner, Nok, helped us by getting my mom’s passport from the rental place and would keep the keys for them to pick up. We boarded the minivan and headed towards Krabi. It took about two hours to get to Krabi.

When we got there, the place we wanted to go was too far so the minivan dropped us off at a location and some crazy taxi guy harrassed us until we allowed him to take us. He was extremely annoying, and when we got into his car, the thing was about to die. We barely made it to our location and when he dropped us off, he did some extremely annoying things, and I almost blew up on him. I have not been that heated in a while.

After a hectic morning, we dropped off our things and went to explore Krabi Town. We started with a modern coffee shop and had some coffee and some food. I was craving an avocado toast so I got that and my mom ordered some food. We finished there and went to a Thai food restaurant since my sister didn’t eat yet. Food was decent.

We went to get massages after lunch and found a great massage place with high reviews. It didn’t disappoint. One of the better massages I’ve had. My sister got us to get a massage almost every day that we’ve been on this trip.

As we were walking around through what seemed like a night market on the river, a gentleman approached us about taking a boat to a cave and then to a fisherman’s area. We decided to go for it, and it turned out a great choice. The cave was cool, and we got to eat fresh seafood on the river. What an experience!

When we got back, we walked around the river night market to get some snacks then we headed over to Walking street where they hold a real night market. It was huge and packed with food and shopping stalls. Since we were still full, we walked around quite a bit to see everything trying to work up a hunger. We bought a couple of items, bought some fruit, and had some more seafood to cap off the night. They even had live music and performance at the night market. It was the perfect way to end the trip.

My mom and sister leave early in the morning so tonight is the last time I see them until I get back to LA in December. I’m so glad they came out, and I’m already sad to see them leave. It reminds me of the importance of friends and family. It was perfect that they came out the time they did because I was starting to feel the loneliness creep in. This was a great break and time to relax.

I’ll be off to Singapore tomorrow, and I’ll be staying with my buddy for four days. After that, Canggu, Bali. I have a feeling that Bali will have a similar feel to Ko Lanta. I enjoy the beach and island life, but I don’t think I’d prefer to stay that long. I’m most likely heading back to Bangkok for the last two weeks before my buddy some ins. Bangkok is my favorite city in Thailand.

I’m off to bed so I can get to the airport early.

Spiderman that performed at the night market ended up at 7 eleven as we were leaving.
