Chiang Mai – Day 14

Moving Day!

I’ve officially hit 2 weeks into the SEA trip. I can’t believe it’s already 2 weeks…It feels so fast but it also feels like I’ve been gone for a really long time. Tomorrow morning is moving day so I did a little tidying up at the place I’m currently at and trying to finish all the food in the fridge. I’m going to miss this spot. It’s been really good to me and I’m glad it was the first location I stayed at for my trip. It was the perfect balance of being far enough from the busy areas but close enough within walking distance.

Pretty normal day today. Spent most of the day working on Network & Market and Mailchimp. I had to get familiar with the autoresponder and connecting it properly to the site. Mailchimp is much more robust than I thought and pretty straightforward in it usage.

I skipped lunch today and had an early dinner around 5 pm. I decided to walk to the same food/shopping area that I found yesterday but it just so happens they start setting up shop around 5 pm. Not the best timing on my part but I’m going to have two more weeks to check out the area. It’s definitely more of a local place and most of the restaurants have all their menus in Thai. It’s a little harder to order. I ended up leaving the busier food/shopping area and went to a steak restaurant. I ordered way too much and was stuffed afterward. I had some chicken wings, a salad, 3 bbq ribs, and mussels. I got the ribs to go but as soon as I got back to the place I ate those too. Lol. The total price ended up being around $15 plus I gave about $3 for the tip. In Thailand, they don’t really tip but I just feel weird when I don’t.

Chiang Mai University right next to the food/shopping area I walked to.
On my walk, I saw this guy using bamboo scaffolding to work on the building…I was one part scared for the man’s life and two parts impressed he pulled it off using just bamboo…

I had major food coma afterward and took a nap. I feel crappy after eating such a dense and large meal like that. Not something I’ll do often but since today almost felt like a little 2 weeks celebration of being here, I said: “why not.” I was planning to get a massage from the place I normally go to but since I had to go food I ended up just skipping it.

After my nap, I finished up my first certification in SEO. I have 5 more to go. After studies, I packed up, swept the floors, mopped, and I’m pretty much good to go. I figured I’d relax a bit and reflect a little bit more on the trip so far. Stare at the view I have one last time. Also might watch a quick Netflix show before I get some sleep.

Pano of the view at the Airbnb location I’m at. The thing I’m going to miss most…It has a patio outside too. I’d often just sit out there with tea and just soak everything in.
