The Milliardco Lightbulb
It’s been officially 10 days since I’ve been in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I spent most of my day today working on this site. I thought of the idea yesterday, creating a site to aggregate all the things I’m working on and I couldn’t stop working on it. I started yesterday and literally couldn’t stop working on the site until 2:30 am. I created most of the backbone to it yesterday and did some finishing touches to it today. I was supposed to take a rest day and just relax since I tend to do that on Sundays but when I woke up I couldn’t help but want to finish it as soon as possible.
I think I’ve been feeling all over the place since I got here. The idea of putting everything I’m working on into one hub has been really good for me. It’s making me feel more whole because I can see on a bigger picture all the things I’m working on and how they are connected. Being a big picture person, I need to see how all the parts fit or I just feel frustrated. It’s like running a marathon but not knowing the direction I’m supposed to be running. Until I feel I can get a could global scope of what I’m trying to accomplish I feel stuck.
Luckily, Milliardco was a site that I already had. It was supposed to be a parent site for all the projects and companies I was starting or planning to start. I’ve mulled the idea of creating a personal blog for a while and it just so happened that everything clicked for me yesterday and the timing felt right. I personally don’t post much on social media. I feel it’s too distracting. Every time I post something I anxiously want to see likes. It’s an annoying thing and I’m sure Facebook does it intentionally. I also feel like I’m showing off my life to a bunch of people that probably don’t want to see it. I feel a personal blog makes it more intentional for someone to want to see what’s going on in your life if they chose.
I’m happy how the blog turned out. Now that it’s up, I can focus on writing about my day.
Day in a Life
I woke up a bit later today since I went to sleep late last night. I got about 7 hours of sleep. As soon as I got up I did the morning routine and made some breakfast. After breakfast, I literally spent the next 7 hours working on the website non-stop. After finishing, I got ready and headed over to the MAYA mall to get a SIM card for my phone and to grab some dinner. I haven’t had internet on my phone for the past 10 days. Well, technically I have but at 2g speeds. It’s terrible.
The process was pretty straightforward. I brought my passport and paid for a month of 6mbps (550 bhat with SIM card included. That’s about $16 for a full month of unlimited data.) Beautiful to have access again! After getting my SIM, I’ve been dying to try out this shabu place out. It has a conveyor of food that you just grab and throw into your boiling pot in front of you. It was only 399 bhat ($12) for all you can eat. Turns out it wasn’t as fresh and good as expected. The options were limited but couldn’t really complain. As I sat there eating, I couldn’t help but just think about how fortunate I am. Currently in Chiangmai eating good food working remotely…Pretty awesome.
After eating I headed back to the place and worked a little bit more on the website. I also did my first blog too. I’m liking it already. Let’s just see how long I keep this up. I’m about to watch a movie and unwind for the day. I’m going to start working on reaching out to VC firms for Minidesk.
Okay movie time! Good night!
